This large scale work, a combination of paper cutting, paint, calligraphy and gold leaf is an interpretation of the famous Hannah Szenes poem, "Eli Eli". The words of her poem/song,
"My God, My God, I pray that these things never end, the sand and the sea, the rustle of the waters, lightning of the Heavens, the prayer of Man." Hannah Szenes
depict the nature, as the creator's opus magnum, surrounded by paper cut symbols of our sacred Jewish heritage. As suggested by the artist, an image from a beach beloved to both the clients and the artist has been used in the central scene, painted upon a scroll, which opens to suggest the heartfelt words and what inspired them.
