This ketubah was created on a fine quality parchment, known as vellum. It is made from calfskin and has been used for thousands of years for scribal writing and illumination, including the making of Torah scrolls, mezuzah and tefillin texts. This client chose an illumination of temple implements and a menorah gilded in 23k gold leaf, against detailed painting inspired by Portuguese illumination style. The individual icons of the 12 tribes of Israel surround this painting and were designed specifically for this couple, using a modernistic and colorful approach to each of the tribe's symbols. At top and bottom are two length texts, one in english the other in hebrew. The irregular outer shape of the parchment adds interest to this magnificent ketubah.

Striking mountains against a gorgeous night sky create the mood for this painted and paper cut ketubah. The stars in the sky visualize the stars at the time and in the place of this couple's wedding. They sparkle overhead two paper cut trees which surround the ketubah text and are backed in a variety of lovely papers to create a tree in jewel tones. The border is created by paper cut lilies and with the hebrew words from Psalms, "This is the day the ADONAI has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." An intricate hamsa sits in the center of these words and extends just under the arch shape to add an interesting design element.

The outer border features the orchids which were abundant at this couple's wedding, grapes, flowers and the words from Song of Songs at the top,
I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine
